Give me a Three, or Give me Death

Posted on 27 June 2008 by Raps Fan

Given two deals on the table, which one would you pull the trigger on:

Scenario 1:
Send TJ to Charlotte for Gerald Wallace.

Scenario 2:
Send TJ, Rasho, Baston and a draft pick to Indiana for Jermaine O’Neal and a pick (worse then the one we sent them). Continue Reading

Raptors beat the Celtics 114-112 [23-19] - January 23, 2008

Posted on 23 January 2008 by Raps Fan

“The Lord is good” - Anthony Parker

The Raptors roll into Boston, give up 16 offensive rebounds, turn the ball over 18 times, hit 15 of 21 from behind the arc, shoot 58% from the field, hand out 32 assists, hit 19 of 19 from the line and score 114 points. Oh yea, they also won. Continue Reading

Raptors vs Celtics - January 23, 2008

Posted on 22 January 2008 by masterjuddi

Ahh crap, not the Boston Celtics (33-6) again! Well the good news is that this will be the last time the Toronto Raptors (22-19) have to play the Celtics during the regular season, but the bad news is that the Raptors havent been able to beat the Celtics in three attempts. The last time these two teams met was on December 16th, when the Celtics handed the Raptors a 90-77 loss. There was optimism in the Raptors locker room because “Raptor-killer” Ray Allen was out of the line up because of an injured ankle, but it was short lived. Kevin Garnett led the way, scoring 18 points, grabbing 8 rebounds and dishing out 6 assists. Chris Bosh struggled from the field, shooting 4-12 for 17 points, but did grab 13 rebounds. Checking in on the Atlantic Division

Posted on 07 January 2008 by masterjuddi

In the off-season the Atlantic Division was the busiest Division in the NBA for free agents signings and trades. Boston added all-stars Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen; New York adds Zack Randolph; Philadelphia started the season without Allen Iverson for the first time in eleven years; New Jersey added Canadian Jamaal Magloire to play alongside the Kidd, Carter and Jefferson; Toronto said goodbye to fan favorite Morris Peterson and said hello to Jason Kapono, Carlos Delfino and Jamario Moon. Here is a quick report card on the Atlantic Division teams. Continue Reading

It Was Fun While it Lasted…

Posted on 31 July 2007 by Raps Fan

…The Raptors being the Atlantic champions that is. The Wolves and Celtics finally agreed to a trade that gutted the Celtics bench (Al Jefferson, Theo Ratliff, Gerald Green, Ryan Gomes and Sebastian Telfair) in return for the 10 time all-star Kevin Garnett. With Ainge’s earlier trade landing Ray Allen, there was definitely a push to win now. With The Garnett move, the Celtics move into the Eastern Conference Elite with an All-Star trio of Pierce, Allen and Garnett. Continue Reading

Raising the Titanic

Posted on 29 June 2007 by Raps Fan

Isiah and Ainge finally made some moves that help their teams. Hear me out before you start comment spamming me:

The Knicks moved Steve Francis and Channing Frye for Zach Randolph and a couple rejects. At first glance, it looks like Isiah may have mortgaged the future, for another head case; but if you look a bit closer, you will see he made the right decision. Continue Reading

Jesus, Jose and the mid-level

Posted on 24 June 2007 by Raps Fan

Not surprisingly, the Toronto media is inept at reporting any developments on the trade front (speculation or otherwise). Leave it to the fellas in New York to keep us up to date on what Colangelo is up too. It has been interesting to read all the trade scenarios the Raptors threw their hats in the ring for over the last year. The latest one being sending last year’s number one pick to Seatle for Ray Allen. This is the second time we could have brought Jesus to the Raptors (the first being trading Carter for him straight up during the Babcock era). Allen is exactly the type of talent the Raptors need at the three. Too bad we can’t afford him now. Continue Reading
