Dear Raptors Fans, its time for us to say we’re sorry and move on.
Rob, on behalf of the Raptors Nation, we’re sorry for getting you fired. Now before you get too excited, this is not a letter of forgiveness for drafting Arujio over Iggy, but it is a letter of admission that since that move, you did a lot of good that you never received credit for: i.e. you had the vision and foresight to sign Calderon, you drafted Charlie V, who when he decides to show up is a pretty nice player, and you unlike many other GM’s were able to recoup from a couple of early blunders. Sorry for posting this so late, I had most of it done, but my girlfriend had made plans for us to hang out with her friend and her friends boyfriend..lame…the best thing that came out of the night was the food (Yamato restaurant in Yorkville) and the fact that Chris Bosh was sitting at the table next to mine. The Air Canada Centre will be pumping tonight when the Toronto Raptors host the Orlando Magic in Game #3. The Magic won the first two games at home, but the Raptors know that this is a must win game. If the Raptors fall behind 3-0, they’ll find themselves booking tee times with the Maple Leafs next week. Continue Reading

The skinny on Game 2:
- The Magic come out gunning on all cylinders and get out to a 17 point 1st quarter lead, no surprises there.
- Turkoglu knocks Bosh on his ass, gets a flagrant foul, no one steps up to defend the franchise (but Smitch gives him an earful on the sidelines), no surprises yet again.
- The Raptors answer, and cut the lead to 2 by the half, again, no surprise.
- Bosh and the Raptors bench (Kapono, Delfino and Calderon) keep it close in the 2nd half.
- With 9 seconds left, and the Magic up 1, Smitch calls a timeout, supposedly to draw up a play.
- Raptors inbound to Calderon, who comes up a weak pick-and-roll with Bosh, Bosh jacks up a shot, misses, game over. Continue Reading

I’m not a silver lining kind of guy, so I will get that out of the way to begin with. The Heat, who are playing for absolutely nothing, came out smoking hot, and hit almost every shot they took in the 1st quarter. The Raptors gave them open look after open look, and they knocked them down. I’m confident my girlfriend could have hit most of those open jumpers…seriously, she can ball for a 5 footer. The Toronto Raptors (40-40) are holding down the 6th seed in the Eastern Conference, but will need to finish the season strong in order to hold off the Philadelphia 76ers. The Raptors take on a D-league caliber Miami Heat (14-66) Monday night at the ACC.

Game 2 into the “I don’t trust my teammates, we need to be tougher, and the fan’s suck era”, the Raptors are slowly building momentum in the end of days. I must say, I appreciate Bosh’s YouTube designs, he definitely has personality, and is really trying to connect with fans, which is something his peers haven’t as readily embraced. Continue Reading

The Toronto Raptors (39-39) will be looking for a little revenge when they host the New Jersey Nets (32-46) tonight. Not that the Raptors need any incentive to beat their Atlantic Division rivals, but with a Raptor win tonight, Vince Carter and the Nets will be officially eliminated from playoff contention. I must say, I was actually hype to watch this game. Even though the win was pretty much guaranteed, given that Bosh called out his team and told them he doesn’t trust, and the Raptors had a couple good practices in a row…whatever that means. I imagine it means Joey Graham got a couple monstrous dunks, Baston broke a sweat and Bargnani hit 32 in a row because he was bending his knees. Continue Reading

Before I start this post I’d like to send a shout out the National Champion University of Kansas Jayhawks, who knocked off the Memphis Tigers to win the NCAA Tournament on Monday Night. The Tournament is the best basketball in the world to watch and it didn’t disappoint. Continue Reading
