The Parker Plan – A New Path for Those on the NBA Bubble

Posted on 13 March 2008 by Blake

Man, Anthony Parker was good. Really good. Over four seasons at Bradley, Parker averaged 15 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per night while kicking in close to a steal and a half and two thirds of a block per contest, too. He shot the ball in a fairly efficient manner, had 3-point range, and got to the line at a rate of over 5 times per game, a great number for the college basketball world. He also won the 1995 MVP award for the Missouri Valley Conference. The only real knock against Parker when he entered the NBA Draft in 1997 was that he might have been better served coming out the year before, when he put up college-career highs of 18.9-6.5-3.5 on 47.2% shooting and 42.2% from long range. His junior year was his best, but his staggering numbers and consistency across four seasons was what made him a reliable draft pick, either as a late lottery pick or a late-1st round steal. Raptors lose to Lakers 117-108 [34-29] - March 11, 2008

Posted on 12 March 2008 by Raps Fan

The Raptors gave a valiant effort. They hung around, and didn’t let the Lakers put them away till late in the 4th. I couldn’t ask for anything more. They were outclassed by a better team, no bones man. The usual suspects reared their ugly heads again, but I am too tired to give my thoughts on this game…I assure you I have a lot to say about tonights game, you will get them from my comments. Anyways:

Head over to Arsenalist for the perfect post game wrap-up.

Head over to Dinosty for genius quips, primo pics and … funny … type stuff…he’s good.

Head over to Cuzoogle for instructional videos on how to play proper basketball.

Head over to AltRaps for a complete listing of every related article/opinion available.

Raptors beat the Sonics 114-106 [34-28] - March 9, 2008

Posted on 09 March 2008 by Raps Fan

This game wiped me out man. With the spectre of losing another game to the Sonics weighing on me heavily, I started to assess my involvement with this team. Seriously. I may sound melodramatic, but I am really emotionally involved with the Raptors. Sounds pathetic and juvenile, but when I get behind something, I really get behind it. Anyways, I digress, the Raptors pulled out a win, and I’m not forced to make any decisions, lol. Continue Reading

Raptors beat the Heat 108-83 [33-27] - March 5, 2008

Posted on 05 March 2008 by Raps Fan

The Raptors finally beat a shitty team. I got nervous when Chuck said “they couldn’t possibly lose this lead.” I really don’t know why people rant and rave over Riley, his genius, his detailed approach, bla bla bla. If you can’t win a championship with Shaq, Wade backed up by Haslem, Mourning, Payton, Williams and Walker, then you shouldn’t be allowed to coach, period. He does nothing with a less talented team. The Heat team isn’t that bad. I mean, they aren’t good, but they are better than 11 wins. At the end of the day, you have Wade and Marion, shouldn’t be last in the East…that’s all I’m saying. Raptors lose to Magic 102-87 [32-27] - March 4, 2008

Posted on 04 March 2008 by Raps Fan

Man I hate TSN broadcasts, but at least Rod Black doesn’t pretend to know anything about basketball. Why is everyone saying that this is a huge game? Ok, I mean I understand, but why be so cavalier about this game, but no peep about the 3 previous ridiculously digusting dry heaving ee water @#*&$()#… games? To imply that winning this game for the possible tie breaker if they end up with the same record is…absurd, seriously absurd. Continue Reading

Raptors lose to Bobcats 110-98 [32-25] - March 2, 2008

Posted on 02 March 2008 by Raps Fan

Sadly, this is a lottery team without Bosh. After leading 32-22 at the end of the first, Smitch decided to go small-ball, and it all fell apart. What a disgusting game. How do you lose to a team that is 19-39? Give them 18 offensive rebounds, open jumpers, play small ball, basically do everything wrong. Two games in a row, and Smitch is exposed as having no strategy other than ride Bosh into the ground. How else do you explain him playing Bosh 40 minutes in a blowout win over the Wolves? That was probably the catalyst for losing Bosh for 4 games. Continue Reading
