Dear Chuck,
What a year. Seriously, I haven’t been through so many ups and downs in a single season following the Raptors. Every year, for the most part, you knew what kind of team we had heading into the season. You set your expectations, and away you go. Continue Reading

Hard to keep interested when New Orleans got every shot they wanted, and hit em. The Raptors made a game of it in the 4th with a serious run. The second unit got the Raptors within 10 points, the Hornets called a timeout, Byron Scott Countered with Paul, Peja, Chandler, West and James; Smitch left Bosh on the bench. Continue Reading

The Toronto Raptors (37-35) host one of the best teams in the NBA Sunday when Morris Peterson and the New Orleans Hornets (49-22) visit the ACC. The Hornets are tied with San Antonio atop of the extremely competitive Western Conference. Continue Reading

I want to start by apologizing to the 12 or so people who read my blog for being so quiet this off-season. Aside from the rumors and the trades, nothing interests me about it. With little on the line, pre-season game’s lack focus and intensity, and really, I can’t stomach watching Graham, Baston and Moon playing 20+ minutes of WNBA caliber basketball. I am too emotionally invested in this team to watch half ass ball…my nerves are strictly reserved for regular season/playoffs. Continue Reading

The Toronto Raptors off-season may not have been as exciting as the Knicks, Nets or Celtics, but their acquisitions will create battles for playing time which will benefit the team. In my opinion Chris Bosh and Anthony Parker are the only guarantees for starting spots this season. Continue Reading

Bryan Colangelo didn’t take long before he dipped into the free agent pool. The Raptors signed former 3 point champ and Miami Heat forward Jason Kapono. Kapono led the NBA last season in 3 point percentage (51.4) and averaged 10.9 points and 2.7 rebounds while with the Miami Heat. Continue Reading

It was almost a reality. Chad Ford spilled the beans on a possible trade at the deadline for Morris Peterson and some change (hopefully Graham). Imagine lining up Bosh, Barganani and Kirilenko in the front court together…what could have been… Continue Reading

…and all but say goodbye to Mo Pete. Colangelo picked up the Argentinian from Detroit for two second round picks in ‘09 and ‘11, bringing the number of international players to 7. The sparingly used guard shores up an already solid back court for the Raptors. The 24 year old swing guard, when given some time, has shown some game and heart over the last couple years. Having had the time to digest the season for what is was, and not what it could have been, it is easy to get excited about the future. They assimilated 9 new players, Mitchell survived his lame duck status - parlaying it into a big payday, Colangelo cemented his GM genius, MLSE made millions more than they anticipated, and Embry apparently lost a couple pounds. A GREAT SUCCESS! Continue Reading
