East Preview 1.0

I know, its still early to preview the East, since many free agents still remain unsigned and there is still talk of some teams looking to make some major moves (ie/ McGrady to Detroit etc).  However, with the start of summer league action underway, all of the major unrestricted free agents signed, and the Raps all capped-out, its time to look forward to the fall - to get a sense of where this team fits (as it is constructed right now). Let’s Get Restricted

You see, the problem with this years free agent crop is just that….everyone is…restricted.

Some Preliminary Thoughts on the Cap and Free Agency

Those of you out there dreaming about some big name accusation for the Raps in the off season may want to think again for the simple reason that at the current moment, the Raps don’t have a lot of room under the salary cap. Every summer only 1-2 teams find themselves in a position to be significantly under the cap to take a run at the big name free agents. Last summer it was Orlando and Memphis, this summer it looks to be Philly and Memphis, and in 2009 it will be Toronto. Continue Reading

Raptors vs Wizards - March 7, 2008

The Toronto Raptors (33-27) return home after a mini three game road trip to take on the Washington Wizards (29-31). The Wizards currently sit four games behind the Raptors for 5th place in the Conference and could have Gilbert Arenas back by the end of the month.

Raptors vs Wizards - January 29, 2008

The Toronto Raptors (24-19) and Washington Wizards (23-19) begin a back-to-back home-and-home series on Tuesday night in DC. The last time these two clubs met the Wizards knocked off the Bosh-less Raptors 101-97 on December 1st. Gilbert done for the season

Washington Wizards all-star guard Gilbert Arenas is done for the year after injuring his knee in the first quarter of wednesday nights loss to the Charlotte Bobcats. Arenas will have arthroscopic surgery on his left knee and will be sidelined up to 3 months. The Wizards, who recently lost Caron Butler for the season, are a playoff bound team and could be a first round matchup for the Toronto Raptors. Continue Reading
