The Raptors came into Orlando for the first of two road games in Florida. The Raptors came into tonight’s game looking to avenge some of the hurt from last season’s spanking at the hands of the Magic. Even with the addition of Jermaine O’Neal, this was not the Raps night. Just like 7 months ago in Orlando, the Raps fell short. The glaring need of Jose Calderon was present tonight. Some might describe this game with three words: Turnovers, Turnovers, Turnovers. This week coming up will be a strong test with Jose Calderon Questionable still with his hamstring and the latest report has him not playing in Orlando or Miami. Perhaps he will play again when the Nets come to visit on Friday the 21st or Sunday the 23rd. Either way, we hope he gets back to 100% and doesn’t rush back too early as we need him healthy. I know, its still early to preview the East, since many free agents still remain unsigned and there is still talk of some teams looking to make some major moves (ie/ McGrady to Detroit etc).  However, with the start of summer league action underway, all of the major unrestricted free agents signed, and the Raps all capped-out, its time to look forward to the fall - to get a sense of where this team fits (as it is constructed right now). Rob, on behalf of the Raptors Nation, we’re sorry for getting you fired. Now before you get too excited, this is not a letter of forgiveness for drafting Arujio over Iggy, but it is a letter of admission that since that move, you did a lot of good that you never received credit for: i.e. you had the vision and foresight to sign Calderon, you drafted Charlie V, who when he decides to show up is a pretty nice player, and you unlike many other GM’s were able to recoup from a couple of early blunders. The Air Canada Centre will be pumping tonight when the Toronto Raptors host the Orlando Magic in Game #3. The Magic won the first two games at home, but the Raptors know that this is a must win game.
