Mitchell on the Bubble as the Raptors Lose to the Nets

Posted on 22 November 2008 by Raps Fan

It only took 12 games for most critics (mine included) nightmare to come true: O’Neal comes down awkwardly after getting fouled by Sean Williams, and leaves the game in the 4th never to return. I was hoping for a Willis Reed moment since the Nets, on the shoulders of Carter and Harris, took the Raptors into overtime…and beat them in overtime. Seriously, I need to reassess my allegiances. There isn’t anything in my life, that I have put so much effort into, that has continually and progressively disappointed me. Continue Reading

Raptors 2008-2009 Schedule Announced

Posted on 06 August 2008 by Raps Fan

So the schedule is out, and at first glance it looks like we will know what this team is made of Come November 1st in Milwaukee. IMHO, the Raptors should go 9-5, which will go a long way to setting a tone for the rest of the season, and maybe get them 50 wins. As we all know, the last couple seasons, the Raptors haven’t been so quick out of the gate, and that has cost them. Continue Reading

West Preview 1.0

Posted on 19 July 2008 by phdsteve

Now that the other shoe has dropped and team like GS and Lac who had lots of cap space have started to blink- its time to take a quick peek at the Western Conference. AND given how much people had to say about my first preview of the Eastern Conference, I’m interested to see what people think about how the west will play out. Continue Reading

Raptors beat the Nets 109-91 [28-23] - February 13, 2008

Posted on 13 February 2008 by Raps Fan

The game was really secondary to the news that Kidd was traded to the Mavs. With Mr. Triple-Double sent back to where it all began for him, the deflated Nets were ripe for the picking, in fact, the Raptors to ran a train on the Nets ass. This was a classic win for the Raptors over an inferior/deflated/incapable team. They shot the shit out of the ball in the face of no defensive pressure. The outcome of the game was decided in the first with the Raptors surging to an early lead, and never letting up. They put the game out of reach by halftime (I stopped taking notes partway through the 3rd. I apologize, but it is hard to keep up the notes when the Raptors are pounding or getting pounded by a ridiculous margin). Continue Reading

Raptors vs Mavericks - December 12, 2007

Posted on 12 December 2007 by masterjuddi

The Toronto Raptors (12-10) have won two in a row and will look to make it three when they host the Dallas Mavericks (14-8) tonight at the ACC. The Raptors are coming off a victory over the surging Atlanta Hawks, but the win came at a cost. In the fourth quarter guard TJ Ford was fouled hard going in for a lay up and left the game on a stretcher with neck/head injuruies. Ford finished with a game high 26 points and 8 assists. Raptors lose to Mavs 105-99 [5-6]

Posted on 20 November 2007 by Raps Fan

I began to do my customary quarter-by-quarter breakdown, but frankly, I lost interest for this game. Before I go any further, there were some positives that came out of this one. The Raptors started the game doing the right things. To Mitchell’s credit, his strategy out of the gates was the right one. Continue Reading

The Wild Wild West

Posted on 23 April 2007 by Raps Fan

What a night! The Warriors made the Mavs look ordinary. The look on Cubans face the whole game was priceless. He looked like he was going to jump into the bench, and start cutting cheques to motivate the rest of the team. Nelson was masterful in his strategy. Like watching a well played game of risk…total domination. Avery had no answers. Forget the Suns, guess what the next cool thing will be? Small ball a la the Warriors. Continue Reading
