A Year in Review - How the East was Won (and Lost)

Posted on 07 June 2008 by phdsteve

Quickly- by a show of hands, how many Raptors fans thought that if they drew Detroit in the first round this year that they stood a chance of winning that series (put your hand down Chuck Swirsky- you’d think that they could beat God and Ditka in tennis match, and Chuck Norris in just about anything). The truth is…even the most staunch Raps fan must concede, that beating Orlando seemed really possible this year, as did Jersey last season…but Detroit…fuggeddaboutit. Continue Reading

Raptors lose to the Nuggets 109-100 [35-35] - March 23, 2008

Posted on 23 March 2008 by Raps Fan

It’s been a few wonderful days since I haven’t had to report on game stats for a Raptors game. The quality of my life has increased 26%: I have my appetite back, the weather is getting better, my knees aren’t aching, heart is ok, it’s my New Years. With traffic to RaptorsTalk.com falling in the wake of a couples game without my play-by-play, the sadist in me was screaming for me to turn to the Denver game, I was more than happy to watch Hellboy in HD (can’t wait for the sequel), but my RFS was acting up. Raptors lose to Nuggets 137-105 [34-31] - March 14, 2008

Rasho wins the tip, putting into Calderon’s lap who skips the ball up-court to Parker who fakes the three from the corner, getting Carmelo in the air, and puts the ball on the court and drives to the rack. He pulls up and lobs the ball to a cutting Moon who puts down a massive dunk in Kenyon Martins eye, and 1 baby. Continue Reading

The Wild Wild West

Posted on 23 April 2007 by Raps Fan

What a night! The Warriors made the Mavs look ordinary. The look on Cubans face the whole game was priceless. He looked like he was going to jump into the bench, and start cutting cheques to motivate the rest of the team. Nelson was masterful in his strategy. Like watching a well played game of risk…total domination. Avery had no answers. Forget the Suns, guess what the next cool thing will be? Small ball a la the Warriors. Continue Reading
