JO said all the right things which makes me excited to have him on the team.

O’Neal looks totally stoned in that video pic.
Arsenalists last blog post..Raptors end poor O’Neal’s “suffering” as Jose becomes rich and Matt Devlin gets THE job.

i have to say, bc, as much as i bash him, says a couple things, and i feel a bit at ease. it upsets me that he sold me. i still think this team is missing a piece or two, but i’m better about things…*shakes head in disgust*
as for o’neal, i never knocked him, the kid has game, there is no doubt, just not sure about the knee. you have to believe that the raptors did their diligence to make sure his knee is good enough to play on (not barring another injuring of course that could happen to anyone). hopefully he has an amare-type recovery.
but o’neal said a couple things that really got me excited:
“bang in the low post”
“altering shots”
“blocking shots”
“taking charges”
“i like contact”

He also seems to have really, really hated how fucked up Indian has been since the brawl. I hear that he and Bird hardly even talked.
At worst he will be as good as Grant Hill has been in the past two years. Below the all-star level, but still a real plus player.

If Jermaine is healthy (which I’m optimistic about) I’m confident he’ll play at a high level.
Last season he had only one healthy month of basketball and he was only about 80-85% for the majority of that month (his words and I agree). In 33 minutes a night he was putting up 19ppg, 8rpg, almost 3apg and almost 3bpg on 48.5% shooting. He had some very good performances and some of them came against the most athletic bigs in the NBA in Amare Stoudemire, Dwight Howard (bad shooting night, very good impact elsewhere) and Sammy Dalembert who was in the midst of a career season defensively.
I do expect some fall off from a few years ago when he was 3rd in MVP voting but I believe he’s still very much a perennial All-Star caliber player when healthy.
