The Raptors gave a valiant effort. They hung around, and didn’t let the Lakers put them away till late in the 4th. I couldn’t ask for anything more. They were outclassed by a better team, no bones man. The usual suspects reared their ugly heads again, but I am too tired to give my thoughts on this game…I assure you I have a lot to say about tonights game, you will get them from my comments. Actually, I thought I saw BC burping/belching a bit. I was hoping he was sick.
Outside of Jose and Carlos, I thought they did a pretty good job. Rasho was a stud again, TJ did his best to keep us in it. 98% of us thought it would be a blow out, yet 99% of us stayed up to see the end of the game because it wasn’t.
Kick ‘em when they are down, but this was a commendable job against a deep team.

Against a deep team that was playing without 2 of their top 9 players, in Bynum & Ariza.
When Kobe plays 47 of 48 possible minutes … then, you know that Phil had no intention of ever losing this game; and, that Jelly Bean, Jr. (in fact) had things on cruise-control for the first 40 minutes, pacing himself until the time was right for him to take control in the final 6-8 mins, with the Lakers having 2 days off before they’re at New Orleans on Friday.
Saving Calderon for tomorrow night’s game at Golden State, when he’ll be needed vs Baron Davis, was an interesting move by Sam Mitchell

good catch khandor, i was saying that to my buddy before the game. the warriors are much more beatable then the lakers. not to say they will beat the warriors, but they are more beatable.

when are they trotting out TJ as starter?

I am not really liking what I’m seeing from Delfino- he is obviously a talented player, but I’m not a fan of his shot selection and overall basketball IQ-
Who do you think is the best or most valuable basketball player out of Delfino, Moon, Graham and Kapono?
I’m gonna say Kapono, only because I think we haven’t seen the best out of him yet. However, in a team full of jumpshooters who play questionable defense and can’t rebound, a case can be made for what Jamario Moon brings to the table.
It will be intresting to see who BC keeps out of this group. Its safe to say that Graham will be shipped off, but what about the other three?
Should we even keep them?

It always surprises me when I see people mention Joey being shipped off. We have to assume someone else wants him. He gets a $1mil bump next year and another $1mil the year after, as a qualifying offer. Is Joey worth $3.5 mil a year to anybody?
Rod, I do agree that Kapono is the best of the lot, just for the fact that he has history of getting hot. Delfino has had one real season of NBA burn and that is this one. He might be the classic example of how FIFA/Olympic basketball is different than the NBA.
He will make 2.7 next year if he accepts the offer. Tough to say if another team offers him $3mil based on what he has done this year.
Then again, we are paying Kapono over $5mil for his services this year….

Altraps, I wouldn’t take Joey graham at 3.5 a year. Maybe I would have last year when he was playing significant minutes. This makes me quesiton the pay hike, because if you were bringing in two guys like Kapono and Delfino why pay Graham more if you thought he might not play? - unless BC and Smitch actually thought Graham would play significant minutes.

the only way re-upping graham makes sense, for me, is if they assumed he would be filler in a trade to match salaries. he could be packaged with a couple other guys to land a player who can hit the ground running, that happens to have big contract ($10+ mill/year). no way joey graham is worth $3.5 million, even with those minutes he was getting last year.
