The Toronto Raptors (26-22) hit the road for a quick trip to play the worst team in the Western Conference, the Minnesota Timberwolves (10-38). This will be the first game of a back-to-back for the Raptors; they’ll play at home against the NBA Champion San Antonio Spurs on Monday.
The Raptors ran into a red hot Corey Maggette on Friday night and lost to the Clippers 102-98. Maggette scored a game high 35 points and was perfect from behind the 3-point arc (5-5). Chris Bosh scored a team high 29 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.
The Timberwolves had the Boston Celtics right where they wanted them Friday night. The game was tied and the Wolves had possession with less than a minute, but a turnover led to mad scrabble under the Wolves basket and Leon Powe nailed a buzzer beating lay up to win the game. The game featured the return of Kevin Garnett to Minnesota, but KG wasn’t in the line up because of abdominal injury.
Starting 5:
Jose Calderon/Sebastian Telfair
Anthony Parker/Marko Jaric
Jamario Moon/Corey Brewer
Chris Bosh/Ryan Gomes
Andrea Bargnani/Al Jefferson
Game Notes:
Raptors F Kris Humphries received another DNP Friday night. It was his second in 3 games; Friday nights game was the 1000th in the history of the Raptors; TJ Ford had 2 points and 6 assists in just under 13 minutes in his second game back from injury; the Raptors are 12-12 on the road this season.
Timberwolves F Antoine Walker has been rumoured to be on the move before the NBA trade deadline. He averages 8.1 ppg in just under 20 minutes a game; F/C Al Jefferson is averaging 21.5 ppg and 12.2 in his breakout season; the Timberwolves are 8-16 at home this season.

Still mad about Friday’s game so I hope they jump on the Wolves early and don’t let up.
based on the way the Raps go they will play good tonight and bad tomorrow, or vice versa…….nobody ever knows.
Enjoy the game, no RapsTV over here.
Frustrating.

the raps should jump all over the Wolves like they did Miami, but they’ll need to watch out for Al Jeff. the guy is a beast and he’s the focal point of the Wolves offense. The Wolves goes as he goes, so the Raptors D will have to pressure and double team him as much as possible. Maybe Smtich will let Hump play today. I dont understand why i guy who hussles like Hump doesnt get at least 10 minutes. Smith should throw Hump at AlJeff and make him play physical.
i think the game will be won at the point though. Calderon and Ford should light up Telfair and Jaric

hump isn’t the answer to jefferson, but i agree he should get more playing time.

i dont think the guy meant Humphries is the answer to Jefferson, but “throwing Hump at Jefferson” to make his job a lot harder is a good idea. Get Mitchell to use all Humphries fouls up on Jefferson. He shoots over 70%, but he should be force to earn his buckets.
