Call me the ever pessimist, but splitting two games against a team missing two of their all-stars is unacceptable. It’s the Toronto Raptors (24-20) turn to host the Washington Wizards (24-19) tonight at the ACC. Last night the Wizards knocked off the Raptors, 108-104 in overtime. The Raptors couldn’t capitalize with Caron Butler out of the line up, but what killed them most were the 19 offensive rebounds they gave up. Antawn Jamison had a huge game, scoring 24 points and grabbing 20 rebounds. Chris Bosh had another strong game scoring 37 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Continue Reading

The Toronto Raptors (24-19) and Washington Wizards (23-19) begin a back-to-back home-and-home series on Tuesday night in DC. The last time these two clubs met the Wizards knocked off the Bosh-less Raptors 101-97 on December 1st. Not sure if you guys heard this, I just came across it today, thought I would share the wealth. Colangelo being interviewed on ESPN Radio Podcast after the Boston win, where he talks about Calderon and Bargnani. Nothing new on the Bargnani front, but very interesting to hear about Calderon. Apparently last year during draft time and beyond, a lot of people offered interesting deals for Calderon. Looks Colangelo will not be trading Calderon, as he said as much, so it leaves some doubt about the situation when Ukic comes over, and if/when TJ returns. He even goes so far as to thank Babcock, never thought I would ever hear that, although we all know that was the best move Babcock made, interesting listen.

I was at this game, so forgive me for not having a play-by-play. Truth be told, I wasn’t really into this one to begin with. If the Raptors lost, I would have launched my philly cheese-steak (which used to be so much better at the ACC) into the Raptors bench. Milwaukee was on the second night of a back-to-back and aren’t playing well at all (for unknown reasons, they have a long athletic front court, with pretty decent guard/small forwards to boot). The Toronto Raptors (23-19) host the Milwaukee Bucks (17-26) on Friday night at the Air Canada Centre. The Raptors knocked off the “Powerhouse” Boston Celtics 114-112 in one of the most exciting games of the season on Tuesday. The Raptors hit 15 three pointers, went 19-19 from the free throw line, turner the ball over 18 times and gave up 16 offensive rebounds. Jose Calderon scored a team high 24 points and dished out 13 assists.
