Two high profile players have demanded trades recently. Utah Jazz forward Andrei Kirilenko and Phoenix Sun forward Shaun Marion are both aren’t happy with their current situations. Kirilenko is unhappy with Coach Jerry Sloan and Marion is upset with Suns management regarding trade talks and contract extentions. So where could these highly talented ballers end up? The Toronto Raptors are very well represented this summer at the European Basketball Championships. Five Raptors have taken part in the tournament and all five have enjoyed success. Spanish starting point guard Jose Calderon has helped quarterback his team into the finals, averaging 11.1 ppg and 2.6 apg. Fellow countrymen Jorge Garbajosa, whom many felt shouldn’t have played this summer, came off the bench and averaged 8.0 ppg and 2.4 rpg. After sustaining one of the most gruesome injuries I have ever seen in professional sports, Raptors F/C Jorge Garbajosa announced that he’ll play for his country in the European Basketball Championships. The 29 year old is coming off a successful rookie campaign with the Raptors in which he averaged 8.5 ppg, 4.9 rpg, and 28.5 mpg and received First All Rookie Team honours. Continue Reading
