A glance at the headlines from ESPN a day after a health challenged Raptors team thumps Denver (who were ranked higher than them in the Hollinger Power Rankings no less):
- A couple links about Kobe - totally deserved, the guy is sick!
- Who wants playoffs worse? - how about who is in the playoffs?
- Knicks sign a nobody - who really cares if they sign someone who couldn’t make a team at this point of the season?
- Pacers piss on Heat - what about the Raptors pissing on Denver missing 4 of their top 7?
Aside from a story on ROY candidate Bargnani, ESPN has NO coverage of the Raptors. Think this has anything to do with their ‘non-official’ snubbing of the NHL? (MLSE owns the Leafs AND the Raptors?). It’s bullshit man.

everything was overshadowed by kobe’s 4th consecutive 50+ points. the announcer at sportscenter (espn) said so this morning. even march madness was relegated to the sideline !

still, a little love would be nice. lol. we should have at least beat the news about the Knicks signing “wont make a difference” to a stupid-useless contract.

I agree with the lack of repect that Canadian teams get on espn and you would think that with Mello, Iverson, and Bosh playing in a game on friday night would draw a little attention from espn, but I look at it this way…the Raps are Canada’s team and we have tsn, raptorstv, sportsnet, and thescore covering every raptors game. Let them broadcast the Knicks signing a nobody, I’ll watch some good old canadian coverage.

Also the Raps signed former first rounder Luke Jackson to a 10 day contract. he has had injury problems in his career, but when he was in Oregon with Luke Ridnour he was awesome. I know the college game is a lot different, but regardless the kid has skill and could step up with some of the main raptors out of the line up.

Here’s some love for ya Sam:
Nuggets coach George Karl said after the smack was laid down on his team: “I’m really impressed by this team. They might have the best talent in the Eastern Conference, their eight or nine guys know how to play. Detroit has probably the best starters in the league, but this team has great players. They have a chance to be a great team.”
Always nice to have a little love from someone outside of Toronto.

That was a big statement Karl said. I appreciate the love, but he might have possibly overshot. As far as the Luke Jackson signing goes, I liked him too when he was with Ridnour in Oregon. Kid was a nice player in college. He didn’t do too much in Cleveland, but has some game. Hopefully he will turn into a gem like Dixon did (although anyone who knew Dixon would say that he just wasn’t being used in Portland, but still had game).
